Personal Presentation

She holds a PhD in Language Didactics from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP) (2014), where she has been an Assistant Professor since 2015. She taught Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL) between 2007 and 2025 and has been involved in teacher education in various institutions in Portugal and abroad. Her professional activity is closely linked to her research work, and her main areas of research include the teaching and learning of PFL; teacher education in Portuguese; technologies and digital competence related to language teaching and learning; education for sustainable development; written production; learning strategies; and informal spoken discourse.

She is a full member of the Linguistics Research Centre of the University of Porto and served as Coordinator of CAPLE (Centre for the Assessment of Portuguese as a Foreign Language) at FLUP from 2017 to 2021. Between 2021 and 2025, she collaborated with the Master’s Programme in Teaching Portuguese in the Context of Timor-Leste (Dili, Timor-Leste), within the framework of the protocol between the University of Porto and the National University of Timor Lorosa’e, acting as a lecturer, advisor/consultant to teaching practice supervisors, and supervisor of master’s dissertations. At FLUP, she has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Master’s Programme in Teaching Portuguese at Lower and Upper Secondary Education level since 2015 and has been Director of the Master’s Programme in Portuguese as a Second/Foreign Language since 2025.
