halls of residence - Pólo III

Alberto Amaral is U. Porto’s biggest Hall of Residence. Neighbouring the Faculty of Arts, this Hall is famous for its spaciousness, comfort and stunning view over the Douro River and Vila Nova de Gaia’s riverfront.

The Alberto Amaral Hall of Residence has 274 beds for 1st cycle, 2nd cycle and Integrated Master’s students, and 39 beds for 2nd cycle, 3rd cycle and post-doctorate international students. Among the beds allocated to B.A. and M.A. students, 220 are distributed throughout 5 blocks (A, B, C, D and E) with 11-bed apartments that have a shared bathroom, kitchen and living room. The remaining 54 beds are located in block F and are distributed throughout double bedrooms (temporarily with single occupancy), with private bathroom and a shared Kitchen.

The beds allocated to the remaining students are located in block F and are distributed throughout 33 single rooms and 6 rooms with double beds, all with private bathrooms, a mini fridge and a shared kitchen.

The Residence is equipped with a surveillance service that operates when SASUP’s staff is off-duty.
