Library of the Faculty of Engineering

The FEUP Library makes 200 000 items available to its users as physical media (books, scientific journals, theses and dissertations, standards and videos). To complement this collection, it also provides about 30 000 ebooks, 40 000 ejournals, 12 000 theses and dissertations and 8 000 standards in electronic format. All physical documents can be accessed freely, except for those that have handling restrictions due to their conditions of conservation. They can be found using the Library’s Catalogue, U.Porto’s Discovery Service and through document databases.

Several spaces in the Library building are available to the community that can be used for studying, working in groups and for cultural enjoyment. Floors 1 to 5 are for individual study. On the 6th floor there are 16 offices, two study rooms for groups and a room for user training. In the ground floor is the entrance to the building and it is mainly used as an exhibition area. You can find leisure spaces throughout the building and on the ground floor you can also read the main daily and weekly newspapers.

FEUP’s Library also provides the following services to the community:

• user support and support guides;
• user training;
• provision of documents;
• assistance to publish scientific content.
