Objectives

The main aims are:

  1. to enable students to identify their needs and gaps and to implement appropriate strategies to perfect their command of the French language
  2. to stimulate reflection on the acquisition of French as a Foreign Language (FFL) by Portuguese-speaking learners

Learning outcomes and competences

By the end of the semester, students will have improved their language skills so that they are fluent in the FFL classroom.
They will be more familiar with the content of the Portuguese FFL programmes and will be better able to identify and remedy the difficulties of Portuguese-speaking learners.

Working method

Presencial

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

CEFR level C1 to C2.

Program

  1. Development of a personal learning programme to improve mastery of the French language.

  2. Presentation and analysis of official Portuguese programmes for teaching FFL.

  3. Identification of the main obstacles to learning FFL and development of strategies to overcome these obstacles of a grammatical, lexical, phonetic or cultural nature.

  4. Development of a remediation lesson to be taught to the class.
