Nuno Resende (Cinfães, 1978), PhD in Portuguese Art History, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, at DCTP - Department of Heritage Sciences.
He is the author and editor of several works in the fields of History, History of Art and Heritage Studies, namely "O Compasso da Terra. A Arte enquanto caminho para Deus" (2006), "Vínculos quebrantáveis" (2012), "Cistercians in the Douro" (2015), "A Igreja de Tendais: culto, comunidade e memória" (2018), "Trevões: identidade e legado" (2019).
He has been working as consultant, scientific commissioner and curator of several projects, conferences and exhibitions, in Lamego, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, such as the travelling exhibition "Cistercian in the Douro", distinguished in 2014 with the Reynaldo dos Santos award for its "originality, boldness and quality".
He was scientifically responsible and coordinator of the 2nd phase of the inventory of mobile cultural heritage in the Diocese of Lamego (2005-2007).
The work and work developed reflect his interests and lines of research in the areas of History of Photography, Baroque sculpture and painting, heritage studies, methodologies, hagiotopography, hodographic and landscape studies and analysis of historical sources (among others, those of travel literature).
He is a researcher at CITCEM - Transdisciplinary Research Centre "Culture, Space and Memory", in the group "Sociabilities and religious practices".
He is editor of Revelar - journal of photography and image studies.
Member of the Toponymy Commission of Porto City Council.
