She has got her doctoral dregree in Comparative Literature in 1998, with a thesis on the poetic and critical work of António Ramos Rosa (António Ramos Rosa: critical mediation and poetic creation, Pen-Club Essay Prize, 2004). Tenure in Romance Literatures and Cultures (2010), with a Lecture on Maria Velho da Costa, Tahar Ben Jelloun and Teresa Villaverde.
Full Professor at the Faculty of Letters of Porto. She was Coordinator of the French Studies Section of the Department of Portuguese and Romance Studies (DEPER) and Director of the MA in Comparative Literature and Culture (2005-2008). She is currently the Director of the BA in Literature and Inter-Arts Studies.
Since 2013, she has been Vice-President of the Alliance Française de Porto. She has been a member of the Board of the Agustina Bessa Luís Literary Circle since 2017.
She is a researcher at the R&D Unit Instituto de Literatura Comparada Margarida Losa, of which she was a member of the board at various times (2001-2003; 2012-2015), its Scientific Coordinator between 2015 and January 2022, being responsible for the Strategic Project funded by COMPETE between 2015 and 2018.
She is a member of the LEA ! (Lire en Europe Aujourd'hui) network of researchers; the CRIMIC (Centre de Recherches Interdisciplinaires sur les Mondes Ibériques Contemporains) network of external researchers; the Centre Francophone REVIF, and has also collaborated with the Non-Lieux de l'Exil Programme (Collège d'Études Mondiales - FMSH).
In 2012, she was honoured with the Order of the Academic Palm (Chevalier) of the French Republic.

Comparative Literature
French and Portuguese literature (20th-21st centuries)
Luso-French cultural relations
Migrations, diasporas and exile in literature and other arts,
on which he has published several studies in Portugal and abroad.
