The Master's Degree in Literary, Cultural and Interart Studies proposes the advanced study of literary discourse, focusing on intercultural and interartistic perspectives. Structured in two branches of knowledge – Literary and Cultural Studies and Comparative Studies –, it offers a wide range of specialized perspectives, which the student can adopt according to various curricular modalities and combinations. This training offer is aimed at Romance and Classical Literature, with emphasis on Portuguese Literature and Portuguese Language Literature, Iberian Cultures in general, French Literature and Francophone Literatures.
Objectives
Acquisition of theoretical and critical skills appropriate to the exercise of professions within the scope of cultural mediation, in which Literature is, as a rule, articulated with other artistic languages; production of critical discourse having as its object the practices of a literary nature in their relations with different cultural and inter-artistic contexts; acquisition of theoretical and technical skills within the scope of scientific research in the areas of training privileged by the student, with a view to the possible pursuit of 3rd cycle studies in the field of Romance Studies, Classical Studies and Comparative Literature.

Editorial activity;
Pursuit of 3rd cycle studies in the field of cultural programming, or others;
Degree approved under Art. 54 of the Teaching Career Statute, regulated by Ordinance number 334/2008, of 30/04, for the groups 200, 210, 220, 300, 320, 330, 340, 350 (Order of march 28th, 2023).This degree enables those who are already in the teaching profession to advance in their career, but it is not a teaching qualification degree.
