Personal Presentation

Joana Maia Moreira Dias (PhD in Environmental Engineering) is the Director of Environmental Engineering BSc and MSc courses at FEUP, Associate Professor at DEMM and Researcher of LEPABE at the Environmental Sciences and Technologies group. She also coordinates a continuous education course on Circular Economy and is a member of the sustainability comission at FEUP.

With an H-Index of 20 (2717 citations from 2463 documents, scopus), she has more than 80 publications and more than 40 supervised MSc Thesis and 3 PhD thesis supervised on the fields of waste management and production of renewable fuels, in collaboration with several companies and with international links.

She represents FEUP in waste management working groups and clusters and participated in several funded research projects on waste management, treatment and recovery, and, biofuels production.
