Description: | Accreditation of Programme The programme is accredited by the national Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES). The Degree in Mechanical Engineering (L.EM) (bachelor/ 1st cycle proramme) aims at offering a solid training background in basic sciences and comprehensive knowledge in the major scientific and technical areas of Mechanical Engineering. L.EM is considered a broadband study cycle, combining: - A solid formation in the basic sciences, namely in Mathematics, Physics and Industrial Design; - Comprehensive training in the major scientific areas of Mechanical Engineering, with special emphasis on the areas of Solids and Structures, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, Electricity and Automation, Materials and Technological Processes, and Production Management; The teaching/learning methodologies in the curricular units (UC) of L.EM privilege the proximity and monitoring of the student, at the same time promoting the development of critical thinking, the ability to study independently and the development of group work skills. |
