The Readmission regime is intended for students who, having interrupted their studies, now wish to register in the same higher education institution and cycle of studies they were previously enrolled in, or in the cycle of studies that replaced that one.
Preliminary notes:
- Bachelor students who registered in the academic year 2024/2025 and who have requested the
cancellation of their enrolment may not apply for readmission in academic year 2025/2026.
- Students who
cancelled their registration in the 2024/2025 academic year do not need to apply for readmission in the 2025/2026 academic year. They can simply
renew their registration for 2025/2026, by the deadline established for this purpose.
- In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 5 of Law No. 37/2003, of August 22nd,
time-barred students cannot apply for any cycles of studies in the following two semesters.
- In accordance with Article 2 of the Regulation on periods of limitation for cycles of studies at the University of Porto, students who have been time-barred for the 2nd time in their cycle of studies cannot apply for readmission (see information about
periods of limitation).
Application of students from Integrated Masters or predecessor courses
Following the provisions of Decree-Law No. 65/2018, of August 16th, from the 2021/2022 academic year, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto no longer has admissions/readmissions for Integrated Masters and the adaptation of these cycles of studies resulted in the creation of new Bachelors (1st cycle of studies) and new Masters (2nd cycle of studies).
Students from Integrated Masters who have interrupted their studies and wish to resume them must apply for Readmission in
only one of the new cycles of studies (Bachelor OR Master) in accordance with the following general guidelines:
- If students have completed all the curricular units of the first three years of their study plan (i.e., have completed the Licenciatura/Bachelor in Engineering Sciences), they must apply for Readmission in the new Master that succeeded the Integrated Master they had previously attended;
- If students have not completed the first three years of their study plan, they must apply for Readmission in the new Bachelor that resulted from the adaptation of the Integrated Master they had previously attended. In this case, depending on the number of ECTS credits students have to complete in order to finish the Bachelor, they will be positioned in the Bachelor only (if they have 75 or more ECTS credits pending approval) or both in the Bachelor and in the Master (if they have less than 75 ECTS credits pending approval in the Bachelor), therefore taking advantage of the transition plan that results from the adaptation of Integrated Masters.
Students who were only registered for the Pre-Bologna Bachelor's degree at FEUP and did not finish it, can only apply for readmission for the new Bachelor's degree and, if they wish to continue their studies, they will have to apply for the new Master's degree through the "general" regime applicable to new students.
For technical reasons, it is not advisable to use Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail addresses. All communications with the applicants will be made via the e-mail address indicated in the application.
