The University of Porto has implemented a new Application procedure for Incoming Mobility Students. All Application Forms MUST be submitted online. Therefore, no paper documents and forms have to be sent to the International Office.
All students selected by their Home University, wishing to spend a period of studies at the U.Porto have to register online in order to receive the necessary username and password to access the Application Form. You just have to:
- Ask for login via e-mail:
You will receive an e-mail containing a temporary username and password.
With the received password, candidates must authenticate in this area of the U. Porto website and, after being authenticated, create the application form.
To fill in the form quickly and efficiently, we recommend students to organize all the information and necessary documents with the responsible for the mobility at the Home Institution, before accessing the Application Form.
We strongly advise students to read the Online Application Guide also available in this page (right sidebar).
The Application Form should be completed and submitted online. Finally, the document must be printed, duly signed by the student and by the mobility Coordinators of the Home Institution, stamped and uploaded.
In addition to the Application Form, duly signed and stamped, students must gather all necessary documents for the application:
Please note that submitting your Application does not guarantee a place as a mobility student at the U.Porto. All international mobility students are officially accepted only upon the confirmation with the Letter of Acceptance issued by the U.Porto.
The Application form/Learning Agreement must be signed by the student, and both Local or/and Institutional Coordinators of the Home University.
For detailed information about the Academic Calendar, course programmes, the ECTS guide and dates of the exams, please consult the Education Offer of each Faculty. The website contains detailed information on the degrees taught and on the ECTS credits allocated (refer to "Degrees"). You can also contact directly the Faculty of interest.
Each course's teaching language is identified in the Education Offer of the U.Porto
It is noteworthy to inform that the University of Porto does not impose any mandatory language requirements to international students. However, most of the subjects lectured are taught in Portuguese, therefore , each interested student must check with the Faculty/Department the specific requirements (linguistic and academic) to enable the application’s submission to the U.Porto. The Univerisity may also provide a tutorial support in English to students that request for it and whenever possible. Also note that, some teachers may allow students to write assignments and take exams in other languages, namely in English, but this situation can only be agreed upon arrival in each individual case.
More detailed information about the Portuguese Language Courses offered at the U.Porto, is available here.
Deadlines for the online submission of applications are:
Students that, for any reason, cannot attend classes from the first day, should arrive no later than the end of the first week of classes.
