The objective of this training was to study the basics of medieval binding and provide fundamental tools for its conservation. It focused on the study of seam and headband structure from the 12th to the 16th century, as well as its influences, evolution and variation in the European context.

Workshop on the conservation and restoration of documents using iron gall ink: from theory to practice

During this workshop, we addressed the method developed by Johan G. Neevel on the treatment of documents affected by corrosion of iron gall ink. The main objective of this training was to get to know the inherent advantages of this methodology and to offer students the possibility to apply it.
