Abstract (EN):
Acoustic feedback limits the maximum stable gain of sound reinforcement systems. Acoustic feedback cancellation methods that use the traditional gradient-based or least-squares-based adaptive filtering algorithms present a bias in the feedback path estimate if no decorrelation algorithm is used. This work evaluates the recently proposed AFC-CE method, which estimates the feedback path impulse response from the cepstrum of the error signal, in a situation of short acoustic paths such as the ones that occur in hearing aid applications. Simulation results showed that the AFC-CE method is able to increase the maximum stable gain by 251 dB while keeping a good sound quality. © 2016 IEEE.
