Abstract (EN):
Reliability requirements are considered for various classes of problem involving plastic deformation. For quasistatic elastoplastic situations the need for a logical and accurate algorithm for locating the stress point on the yield surface is identified and a consistent treatment of singular points is discussed. Stability criteria were established for elasto/viscoplastic problems and for situations which must be implicitly integrated it is shown that attention must be given to the treatment of hardening behaviour. The case of fully plastic flow is considered. A correspondence between the various solution methods for incompressible flow was established and the role of selective/reduced integration procedures in the suppression of locking behaviour is discussed.
