Abstract (EN):
The acidity constants of cholic, deoxycholic, dehydrocholic, chenodeoxycholic and their glycine conjugates were determined potentiometrically in aqueous solution (I = 0.15 M NaCl) at several temperatures (10, 25 and 37-degrees-C), and at concentrations well below the critical micelle concentration; for glycocholic acid the acidity constant was also determined by IH nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The values obtained in this work are lower than those reported in the literature and an explanation for this observation is presented. The method developed in the present work allows for a fast and reliable determination of acidity constants of bile acids.
