Academic degrees: Undergraduate degree in Mathematics Applied to Technology (2003) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, MSc degree in Data Analysis and Decision Support Systems (2007) at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto and PhD degree in Clinical and Health Services Research  (2017) at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.

Affiliation: Assistant Research at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and  Coordinator of Statistical Analysis Office, Knowledge Management Unit

Research Focus: From 2002 to present, my research focus in the area of health data analysis allowed me to develop skills in the definition of questionnaires, database implementation, evaluation of diagnostic tests and, more recently, analysis of administrative databases and the development of prognostic models, using both traditional health research methods and data science approaches.

Consultancy activities: Almost 20 years dedicated to clinical research in more than 14 medical specialties, 8 years as Coordinator of specialized biostatistics consultancy of MEDCIDS-FMUP (since 2012), following 10 years of support and consultancy in biostatistics to PhD and MSc students, namely in questionnaire construction, design and development of databases, and data analysis, in the same department (2002-2012).

Former research positions: Post-Doc Fellow and Integrated PhD Researcher (since 2017) at Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS). Researcher at CINTESIS (since 2007). Visiting researcher at the Laboratory for Cognitive Modeling, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (Oct 2007). Collaborator at the Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory, University of Porto (2005-2007).

Science communication: Published 3 monographs, 200+ full articles in journals, 100+ abstracts. Google Scholar h-index 33 (4900+ citations), Scopus h-index 26 (2300+ citations) and Publons h-index 27 (2000+ citations).
