Objectives
Knowledge and skills to enable them to acquire skills for the performance of tasks related to the propaedeutics, pathology and clinic of essential nosological entities (frequent and / or relevant) of the specialty of Stomatology and Oral Surgery.
Learning outcomes and competences
In this optional course (Stomatology) students will develop the knowledge, skills and competences with a view to clinical practice that are necessary for general practitioners. Learning objectives will be adapted to the syllabus of Stomatology and Orofacial Surgery, with particular emphasis on clinical practice and referral. for the specialties

Contents:
The syllabus includes the following themes:
Oral Pathology: Oral Cavity Diseases, Oral Cavity Diseases with systemic repercussion and systemic diseases with repercussion in the oral cavity.
Oral Oncology: Early Diagnosis. Precancerous Lesions; Orofacial Pain: Stomatognathic System pain and neuralgia.
Orthodontics: Oral Rehabilitation for Orthognathic Surgery and Treatment of Cleft.
Oral Surgery: Extractions and neoformations of the soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity.
Periodontology: Rehabilitation Surgery of tooth support tissues; Implantology:
Oral rehabilitation with implant-supported prosthesis.

Pedagogical modalities: theoretical sessions + clinical practice (
supervised: tuto/student ratio 1/1, consultation, surgical room and urgency of the Stomatology Service, from 08:30 to 13:00).

Eligibility for exams
Terms of frequency: After qualitative evaluation as apt, a classification is attributed (scale from 0 to 20). To become apt 75 % attendancy must be obtained. Students who have the statute of working student and do not comply with the requirement for apt, will be evaluated by means of an oral examination with a practical component.
Calculation formula of final grade
Formula Evaluation: After qualitative evaluation as apt, a classification is attributed (scale from 0 to 20). Quantitative evaluation takes in consideration knowledge and attitudes (0-6 points), clinical performance (0-8 points) and learning interest (0-6 points).
