Objectives

To be able to value the importance of the right laboratory test to each individual patient according to its own particular situation and the phase of the disease, knowing also the main causes of analytical variability and developing critical reasoning in relation to the data coming from the clinical laboratory.

Learning outcomes and competences

The student will be expected to develop the following skills:

  1. Knowledge of the value of Clinical Patgology
  2. Problem solving
  3. Test selection in common conditions
  4. Valorization of pre-analytics
  5. Venous blood collection for haematology and chemistry tests.
  6. Routine urinalysis, including chemical screening and sediment examination.
  7. Elementar peripherial blood cell analysis
