Objectives
Provide professionals involved or likely to be involved in issues of evaluation and repair of bodily post-traumatic harm, with knowledge and skills for conducting clinical forensic expertise in this area or in the orientation of bodily harm repair.
Learning outcomes and competences
The unit’s contents, while not comprehensively addressing all of the complexity and magnitude of the problems inherent to bodily harm assessment, address the main key points in order to create a broad understanding of the topic, while allowing students to develop capabilities to deepen their knowledge according to their intervening area. The contents were developed to raise the students’ sensitivity and critical judgment, thus promoting their problem solving ability.

- Assessment in Penal Law: Assumptions legal assessment and reparation of bodily harm. General principles of bodily harm assessment. Offenses to physical integrity
- Assessment in Civil Law: Evolution, current situation and future perspectives. Expertise mission. Patterns of damage and its assessment and valorization. Temporary and permanent damages. Table of Disabilities, tridimensional scales and Compensation Table. The forensic medical report. The assessment in case of severe handicap. Particularities in the case of children and elderly
- Assessment in Labor Law: Assumptions legal assessment and reparation of bodily harm. Types of forensic medical exams (single, review and medical boards). Temporary and permanent damages. National Table of Disabilities for Labor Accidents and Occupational Diseases. The forensic medical report.
