Objectives
To develop the knowledge, skills and competency needed for the routine management of labour and delivery, including management of the main complications that occur during this period.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students should have the knowledge and should feel comfortable to integrate health teams assisting labour and delivery.

Presencial
Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
Basic knowledge in obstetrics and Gynecology.
Program
Labour, routine clinical care in labour and delivery and active support of the second stage of labour.
Fetal monitoring during labour.
Labour dystocia.
Instrumental vaginal delivery.
Obstetrical emergencies: shoulder dystocia and post-partum haemorrhage.

Eligibility for exams
To obtain attendance, the student will have to attend 75% of the classes (seminars, clase discussion sessions, simulation-based sessions) and labour ward rotation.
Calculation formula of final grade
Labour Ward rotation integrated in healthcare team (with signed records of presence and completed procedures with minimum requirements) 30% of final score
Practical assessment in the delivery simulator (management of delivery and handling of labour complications) 30% of final score
Knowledge evaluation test 40% of final score
