Resumo (PT): ES: La irrupción de Juana de Ibarbourou en el ambiente literario rioplatense con la publicación de Las lenguas de diamante (1919) trajo consigo un soplo de aire fresco diametralmente opuesto a los agónicos estertores del Modernismo hispánico que entonces se hacían sentir un poco por todo el continente. Entre los temas cultivados por la autora uruguaya en su extensa obra cobra especial relevancia la cuestión del paso del tiempo y de la pérdida de la belleza y el vigor físicos. Atendiendo a lo anteriormente expuesto, hacemos un recorrido sumario por las diferentes representaciones del paso del tiempo que hallamos en la obra de Juana de Ibarbourou, contribuyendo de esta manera no solo al estudio de su producción, sino también a la investigación en torno a la relación (todavía poco explorada) entre literatura, edad y escritura femenina.

Abstract (EN): The appearance of Juana de Ibarbourou on the Rio de la Plata literary scene with the publication of Las lenguas de diamante (1919) brought with it a breath of fresh air which was diametrically opposed to the agonising rattles of Hispanic Modernism which at the time were being felt in many parts of the continent. Among the themes cultivated by the Uruguayan author in her wideranging work, special relevance is given to the question of the passage of time and the loss of physical beauty and strength. Given the above, the article attempts to summarise the different representations of the passage of time to be found in Juana de Ibarbourou’s work, thus contributing not only to the study of her work, but also to the research on the yet little analysed relationship between literature, age and women’s writing.
