The assessment scheme consists of the following assessment components:
- Final Exam
- Critical essay on selected scientific articles.
- Activities developed in tutorials sessions.
All tests are mandatory.
The current evaluation system is the evaluation with final exam and includes the following components:
-Final exam (60%);
- Critical essay on selected scientific articles (30%);
-Activities developed in tutorial sessions - consists of the oral presentation of the critical essay at the classroom(10%).
For the student to be approved for the course the classification of the final exam must be equal to or higher than 10 and the Critical Essay and Tutorial Activities must be equal to or greater than 8 values. Failure of this condition implies the transition for the appeal exam. If the rating is less than or equal to 7 in the final exam, and if the student has received a positive rating in other components (Critical Essay and tutorial activity) this will be considered until the time for appeal or special exam of the same school year.
For the accomplishment of the activities of Tutorial Orientation proposed by the teacher is obligatory the presence of the students in the classroom. If this does not happen the student will get a grade of zero in them.
The student-workers, as long as they take their respective test in the Academic Services of FLUP, are exempt from the OT activities in the classroom. However, they are obliged to contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester for the purpose of establishing alternative assessment procedures for OT activities.
Date of delivery of critical essay:
A Critical essay delivery occurs for all students, regardless of the time of the examination they undergo (normal and / or appeal), the last class of Sociology of the Family and Gender of the first semester.If the student fails the exam in the regular season could undergo a new examination at the time of appeal and maintained the classification obtained in the critical essay and the tutorial activities, if they are positive.
Evaluation Period of Appeal:
All the students who have not undergone the evaluation in normal time or who have not obtained the evaluation in normal time can be present at the time of appeal.
The evaluation of knowledge of the students who present themselves at the time of appeal focuses only on the examination component, according to the subject taught and the materials planned and explored in the discipline.
Given that the Critical Essay on scientific articles is carried out during the semester and the specificity of the OT activity, which consists of the presentation in the classroom of the critical essay, these evaluation components are not possible to be carried out at the time of appeal for the purposes of passing the course unit. In this sense, the evaluation at the time of appeal is confined to the final exam. Only students who have not obtained approval for the exam component in the normal time can be submitted to examination at the time of appeal.
The unit of Sociology of the Family and Gender has a detailed document on the "Rules of the course and assessment methods" available on Moodle platform.
Not applicable.
Evaluation in special season
For evaluation purposes in special time, the following evaluation components are considered:
- Final written and oral examination if necessary (60%);
- Critical essay on scientific articles (40%).
Students who take the exam in the special time must submit the Critical Essay on the date of the exam.
It is recommended to read carefully the evaluation rules in the CU. No changes will be accepted to the current evaluation plan.
Improving classification focuses only on the final written exam and oral is required.
