Apresentação Pessoal

Associate Professor in the Department of History and Political and International Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, I am also a full member of CITCEM – the Transdisciplinary Research Centre for Culture, Space and Memory.

My research focuses primarily on Contemporary Portuguese History, the History of Education, and the Didactics of History, with a strong emphasis on the challenges of teaching and learning History today.

Over the years, I have participated in several national and international research projects, including:

• SOLREM – A Necessary Past: Remembering Resistance Against Fascism

• HistoryLab, a digital platform offering virtual resources for History education

• Pedagogical Innovation Routes: Schools and Reference Experiences in Portugal in the 20th Century (2014–2017), funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology

• School on Cloud – Connecting Education to the Cloud for Digital Citizenship (2013–2016)

• Enseigner les passés douloureux en Europe, coordinated by the Université de Caen-Basse Normandie

I am also co-author of school textbooks in History and Geography of Portugal (2nd cycle) and History (3rd cycle) of Basic Education, as well as “Área de Integração” for Vocational Education, all published by Porto Editora.
