Associated Professor with tenure at the University of Porto (Faculty of Literature and Arts, Porto, Portugal); MA and PhD in Comparative Literature; Aggregation in Romance Literatures (2008). Main fields of research: Utopian Studies, Rhetorical Studies and Theatre (18th-19th centuries). Member of the French Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (since 1990). Member and President of the General Assembly of the Institute of Comparative Literature Margarida Losa (since 1999 and 2012), colaborating also with the Institut of Philosophy (UP) and the Centro de Estudos de Teatro (UL), units of research financed by the FCT. Vice-President of the APLC/ Portuguese Comparative Literature Association (2013-2018).  Co-Editor of Pontes de Vista. Revista de Filosofia e Literatura, online journal about Literature & Philosophy.
