Objectives

To further consolidate grammar knowledge acquired in previous levels. To apply the programme contents to the translation of more difficult Greek authors. To encourage the quality of translation.

Ability to work with grammatical structures increasingly complex.

Ability to understand and translate texts of ancient authors with a higher degree of complexity.

 

Ability to improve the quality of translations produced.

1. Review and furtherance of knowledge of morphology and syntax: 1.1. Verbal inflexion: 1.1.1. Athematic conjugation: verbs in -mi. 1.2. The use of the conjunctive and optative in subordinate clauses and in independent clauses. 1.3. Syntax of the absolute genitive and of conditional clauses. 2. Translation of selected texts by classical authors: Aristotle and Plato.
