Objectives
Students are expected to acquire knowledge of issues and fundamental trends of contemporary philosophy through analysing, at various levels, the first and most representative works. We will place emphasis on both similarities and differences, bringing together and confronting various philosophical attitudes and styles, following essential recurrent paths. As far as possible, we will avoid taking sides with a particular philosopher.
Program
1. The issue of history and concept. Time and philosophy.
2. The refusal of appearance.
3. The issue of existence.
4. Reformulations of empiricism.
5. The return of the tragic thought and the issue of values.
6. The thought of life.
7. The new issue of fundamentals.
8. Neo-Kantianism.
