Personal Presentation

Carlos Lindade is a Portuguese-Canadian Assistant Professor with extensive experience in the field of ELT, heavily involved in the training of pre- and in-service EFL teachers and in the development of coursebooks for Portuguese students of English (U Dare 9, 2015; Stars 4, 2016). His research interests include ELT Material Development, AI & Teacher Education, and Technology-Enhanced Language Learning (TELL).

He currently teaches in the faculty's master's programmes in secondary English language teaching, where he oversees teaching practice and MA dissertations and acts as "Regente" for English C2.1 and Production of Teaching Materials in English.

He holds a PhD in Advanced English Studies from the University of Vigo where he obtained the highest grade: Sobresaliente Cum Laude. During the current academic year Carlos is working towards publishing his doctoral thesis:
A comprehensive analysis on how English Language Teaching coursebooks promote teaching pronunciation in Portuguese public schools.

He is an active member of the Portuguese Association of Teachers of English (APPI) and a member of the Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies (CETAPS).
