Pedro David Carneiro Neto, or Pedro C. Neto, is an Invited Assistant Professor at FEUP and an AI Scientist at Unilabs. He holds a PhD from the University of Porto, where his thesis focused on Explainability, Fairness, and Privacy in AI for Biometrics. He also holds a M.Sc. degree (Hons.) in computer science from Aalto University, Finland

He is a researcher in the field of Computer Visio, Medical AI and Biometrics, with a significant track record in developing interpretable systems for colorectal cancer diagnosis from pathology slides. He was awarded the 2024 EAB Max Snijder Award for his contributions to the field.
