Short summary: in recent years, experimental methods have experienced an upsurge in interest in the fields of Economics and Management Research. In a quest for causal relations, human decision-making has been studied in the field, the lab, and, more recently, online. Based on my own experience designing, coding and launching two online experiments, in this workshop I will offer the essential tools to all those wishing to start a similar learning journey. I will be focusing on oTree, the software I use to program experiments, which enables, among other features, interaction among participants, as well as endogenous block randomization. I will also present Prolific, a platform that connects us to hundreds of thousands of participants all over the world at a small cost and time expense. The workshop will be interactive, and you will be able to see how both the role of experimenter and that of participant play out. It will end with a sneak-peak into my latest experiment.

1st part (9h30 - 11h15):
(i) Experimental methods and their introduction into the social sciences
(ii) Online experiments using oTree and Prolific
2nd part (11h30-13h00):
(iii) Showing how the experimental tools work
(iv) Sneak-peak into my latest experiment


This is a hybrid Workshop, which may be attended either in person or online. The Workshop will take place at room 305. To attend, please submit the survey no later than Thursday 5th at 4:00 p.m. People wishing to attend online will receive the webinar link on the eve of the Workshop.
