Consultancy and Technical Support

The Network and Telecommunications Unit of the Digital University provides consultancy and technical support services to the Organic Units and other entities of the U.PORTO, aiming to promote the use of good practices and innovation within ICTs, and to support the solution of problems involved in the use of technological infrastructures.

Services include:

  • Technical and consultancy support to U.PORTO institutions in the field of data networks, always done through the local contacts of computing services;
  • Audits in the field of activities conducted by the Network and Telecommunications Unit, requested by the U.PORTO institutions;
  • Support to the installation and setup of local networks and network services;
  • Support the solution of incidents within the local networks;
  • Support and information to U.PORTO institutions on the use of tools to monitor the performance of communication infrastructures, which will help identify eventual constrictions and solve problems;
  • Support the definition of local policies on the use of network resources and services;
  • The provision of equipment that can be requested by the U.PORTO institutions to cater for occasional needs in critical situations;
  • Support, on request, U.PORTO events, by providing resources and technical support in the Unit’s field of activity.

Consultancy and technical support services must be requested by the computing teams of the U.PORTO institutions, through the contacts of the Network and Telecommunications Unit.
