SIGARRA

All students of the U.Porto receive, at the time of registration in one of the faculties, the credentials for access to the information system of the U.PORTO, known as SIGARRA (acronym for Sistema de Informação para a Gestão Agregada de Recursos e Registos Académicos - Information System for the Aggregated Management of Resources and Academic Records).

These credentials consist of:

Username (login) – example lcf08156
Password

With this information, you can access restricted areas in your Faculty website (the homepage is the SIGARRA homepage SIGARRA homepage), such as your institutional personal page (by selecting your name), where your student file is lodged, and access information on timetables, classes, classrooms and many other functionalities available. For example, you can also access forums (discussion areas), online learning areas (e-learning), the Library online catalogue, virtual service desk functions (for e.g., to request online certificates or sending application forms, etc.). In your administration page, you have administration permission to change your SIGARRA access password and some of your personal data, and eventually also have permission to change the password for other services, such as the e-U service, which will allow you access to the wireless network of your faculty, or the VPN (Virtual Private Network) service, which will allow you to access the computing network of your Faculty and other local services if you are not on the premises, for example, if you want to work at home.

For more detailed information, see your faculty’s website, in the Computing Services section.

Protect your online safety!

For security reasons, the password to access SIGARRA should be changed when accessing the system for the first time.

You can then change it as often as you like during your study period at the U.PORTO. Note that you don’t have to renew your SIGARRA access credentials while you are a student at the U.PORTO. They will be valid during your academic pathway. However, you are advised to change your password regularly and to choose a safe one. Don’t forget that you are liable for actions taken with your credentials. Therefore, do not disclose your password to anyone. All members of the U.PORTO community, students or otherwise, have credentials of their own to access the SIGARRA system, so there is no need to "lend" yours! If you don’t renew your password after a shorter or longer length of time, the system will remind you to do it.

In addition to the already mentioned information, you can also find more information in the SIGARRA pages. For example, you can access the course syllabi in which you have enrolled, class summaries, the documents provided by the teachers (e.g., slides and previous assessment tests), the results of pedagogic surveys done in each semester, etc.. Access your Faculty’s website, sign in using your credentials, and begin to browse...

The U.PORTO web pages and those of Social Action Services (SASUP) are also based on the SIGARRA system. Using the same information (username and password) as in the SIGARRA system of your Faculty, you can access restricted information, provided you use your username and the domain of your Faculty. For example, instead of using only the login lcf08156, you should write lcf08156@ff.up.pt, if you are a student of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The information is valid for accessing the SIGARRA system of the U.PORTO and of SASUP, provided you don’t forget to add the domain of your Faculty to your username.

After signing in the U.PORTO SIGARRA system with their credentials, students can access the laws and regulations of the U.PORTO, and other documents, particularly those provided by the University’s management bodies, tutorials, software, etc. In the SASUP SIGARRA system, you can apply for scholarships and/or accommodation and have access to sports information, medical support, etc.
