Abstract (EN):
Polymer nanocomposite global market is expected to reach $3000 billion, by 2015. The rising production and consumption inspire some concerns as the polymer nanocomposite production can expose workers to new risks associated to the nanomaterials. The present investigation is aimed at studying the risk assessment in the polymer nanocomposites production by using several qualitative risk methods. For this purpose, a qualitative analysis based on the following methodologies ANSES, CB Nanotool, EPFL, GWSNN, ISPESL and PMSN were applied and compared. Divergent risk levels were obtained in the qualitative methods; however, all methods consider that the pre-production stage is the one with the higher risk. These risks assessment criteria must be reviewed and complemented with quantitative methods in order to fill the existing gaps.
