Objectives

In the Functional Assessment and training control has as main goal to conduct the learning of theoretic and practical methodology for the athletes’ evaluation in its physiological components, optimizing their abilities and performance.

Learning outcomes and competences

The student must be able to:

• Assess an athlete in his various physiological components;
• Interpret the physiological evaluation exams results;
• Detect frailties and to propose ways to correct them.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Teaching methodologies include theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical teaching. It will be used, as pedagogical resources, individual and group work, questionnaires, discussion forums participation, scientific articles and clinical cases presentation and discussion, online mini-courses, videos analysis, role-playing simulation of clinical interaction situations, visits to professional real context and clinical appointments observation. Curricular unit final evaluation will be made by online tests available through the AcademiaUP platform.
