Eligibility for exams
Distributed evaluation with final exam, with possibility of supplementary assessment, through the component of Interim Assessment (AI).
The theoretical presentation of themes is predominantly focused on the History of Medicine and some other topics selected from the programmatic content with the aim of stimulating the perception of new perspectives in the integral formation of students. The seminars allow the development of discussion times of ideas and topics, in order to promote critical reflection about ideas, cases, situations.
The evaluation of the CU consists of the following components: Interim Assessment (AI), Humanity/ies Project (PH) and Assiduity (A).
The evaluation of each component is calculated as follows:
• Interim Assessment (IA)
Written test, with a duration of 90 minutes (15 minutes of tolerance), to be held in December of the component of History of Medicine - theoretical and seminars - (2 development questions) and the other Seminars (2 development questions), quoted for 20 values: 10 values / History of Medicine (theoretical and seminars) + 12 values / Seminars.
• Humanity/ies Project (PH)
Project prepared by groups of 5 students (who should belong to the same class), whose theme should integrate transversally the knowledge and contents covered in the various seminars. The projects must be delivered in electronic form, through the Moodle platform, until November 15th. The presentations of the projects will take place during the last two weeks of the semester.
The written work must have a maximum of five (5) pages. The oral presentation should be elaborated in power point, with each group of 15 minutes for presentation of the project and 5 minutes of discussion.
The PH classification is based on 3 factors: written work, oral presentation and argumentation. The grade of the written work will be the same for all members of the group. The final grade of the PH will be quoted for 20 values.
• Assiduity (A)
Classification A shall be calculated in accordance with the following:

In order to obtain approval in the UA, a minimum grade of 9,5 values will be required in the Interim Assessment (AI) and 9,5 values in the Humanity/ies Project (PT) and, finally, a final evaluation of 9,5 values.
Calculation formula of final grade
CF = 60%xAI + 35%xPH + 5%xA
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
CF = 60%xAI + 40%xPH
Student workers may choose to perform the PH individually
