The aim of this unit is to give the knowledge’s necessary to the identification of the main causes of ophthalmic pediatric diseases.
This knowledge’s will train the students to identify the main causes of these conditions and to identify its severity and referral criteria.Pathophysiology of the main ophthalmic diseases in the paediatric age.
Evaluation of visual function in paediatric age.
Refractive changes in childhood.
Strabismus and amblyopia.
Diseases present in paediatric age (epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic work-up, and therapeutics)
Retinopathy of prematurity.
Congenital cataracts
