Objectives

This unit aims to understand the contribution of qualitative methods for epidemiological research, exploring contexts of application and different methods of data collection, analysis and interpretation of data.

 

Learning outcomes and competences

Identifying contexts of application of qualitative methodology in health. To design a qualitative investigation. Identifying sampling techniques and methods of gathering information. Assessing the quality of qualitative research.

Eligibility for exams

Includes the development of a research project, being necessary: a) an oral presentation of the project, and b) to deliver a written report of the project. All these elements are mandatory, regardless of student status.

 

Calculation formula of final grade

Criteria weighting of each of the evaluation components of the final grade of the course: Oral presentation of the project (25%), written report of the project (75%).

It is mandatory to carry out all elements of evaluation.
