Resumo (PT): Pretendemos com este estudo verificar em que medida os cibermeios (sites noticiosos) dos países lusófonos aproveitam as potencialidades jornalísticas da Internet, e se há diferenças significativas de país para país. Quisemos também saber que potencialidades são mais e menos aproveitadas, e comparar os resultados com os obtidos noutros estudos baseados na mesma metodologia. Como esperávamos, os resultados apontam para a inexistência de um único padrão que caracterize o ciberjornalismo lusófono, bem como para uma clivagem clara entre Península Ibérica/Brasil, com níveis mais altos de aproveitamento das potencialidades jornalísticas da Internet, e África, com os valores mais baixos. Estes resultados indiciam uma relação direta ente os níveis de desenvolvimento do ciberjornalismo em cada país e os respetivos níveis de desenvolvimento económico.

Abstract (EN): With this study we’ve intend to verify the extent to which online media (news websites) of Lusophone countries are harnessing the journalistic potential of Internet, and whether there are significant differences from country to country. We also wanted to know which capabilities are more and less used, and compare the results with those obtained in other studies based on the same methodology. As expected, the results show a lack of a single standard that features the Lusophone online journalism, as well as a clear divide between Iberia / Brazil, with higher levels of use of the potentialities of the Internet, and Africa, with the lowest values. These results suggest a direct relation between online journalism development levels in each country and the respective levels of economic development.
