Abstract (EN): The work described in this paper refers to the mechanical characterisation of Portuguese hemp fibres, to be used on the production of composite materials with an epoxy matrix. A single filament mechanical characterisation is made, for fibres with and without a cleaning bath from a solution of sodium hydroxide, with the propose of increasing the adherence fibre/matrix.
