Resumo (PT):
Abstract (EN): Against the background of the global COVID-19 pandemic, this chapter presents an in-depth vision of the relationship between music-making and the domestic life of Portuguese artists. The chapter presents and discusses data from an international project related to the Portuguese reality. Then, on the basis of some 40 semi-structured interviews with Portuguese musicians, the author reflects on the impacts of the pandemic on their musical careers and potential impacts on music-making processes more generally, as well as on family and domestic life. Finally, the chapter highlights the scarcity of this kind of research in the Portuguese reality, making it imperative that other dimensions of music-making and artists' lives are explored and made perceptible, not just the economic losses suffered.
