Abstract (EN):
In order to build up a forensic database with the characteristics of the sediments and soils of
the Portuguese mainland hundreds of beach and dune sediment samples were collected. The samples
have been analyzed by several analytical techniques and several studies were undertaken to assess which
are the properties best suited to the discrimination between areas and samples
