Resumo (PT): Com vista a compreender o papel da imprensa periódica durante a ditadura do Estado Novo no recorte e na defesa de uma identidade da mulher portuguesa, no presente estudo analisa-se, numa perspetiva linguístico-discursiva, a representação da mulher num corpus de «Página(s) Feminina(s)» e rubricas de autoria feminina nas revistas Mundo Gráfico, A Esfera e Portugal Colonial. Como revistas do regime, as publicações promoviam um Portugal e uma mulher idealizados. A presença e participação da Mulher na imprensa cingia-se prototipicamente a rubricas de entretenimento e/ou aconselhamento, difusoras da propaganda do Estado e alheadas do cenário sociopolítico de então, em que, por ausência, está implícita essa segregação.

Abstract (EN): The construction of women’s identity in magazines during Estado Novo In order to understand the role of the periodic press during the Estado Novo dictatorship in the design and defense of an identity of the Portuguese Woman, the present study analyzes, in a linguistic-discursive perspective, the representation of women in a corpus of «Woman(en) Page(s)» and female editorials of the magazines Mundo Gráfico, A Esfera and Portugal Colonial. As magazines of the regime, the publications promoted idealized versions of Portugal and womanhood. The presence and participation of women is prototypically limited to entertainment and/or counseling editorials, diffusing the state propaganda and oblivious of the socio-political scenario of the time, were their absence implies segregation.
