Abstract (EN):
In sport facilities, as in other spaces, indoor environmental quality is fundamental for the users’
wellbeing. This paper describes an experimental campaign for the evaluation of the indoor
environmental quality of three gymnasiums. Air temperature, relative humidity and carbon
dioxide concentration were continuously monitored between January and May. The occupants’
perception about the indoor air quality and comfort conditions was assessed through a
questionnaire. Although the users’ answers indicated satisfaction with the indoor air quality,
the monitoring results revealed large carbon dioxide concentrations, explained by the scarce
fresh air admission. Regarding the thermal comfort, users were generally satisfied with the air
temperature and the relative humidity.
