Summary: |
The SAFE-CT study proposes alternative CTCA scanning strategy using artificial intelligence tools. The goal is tomake this process safer, more aff ordable and personalized, as to guide the administration of ICCM according toeach patients unique probability of CAD. This study may have several clinical applications:
1.
In tertiary hospitals with expertise in CTCA, SAFE-CT will reduce the need for a complete CTCA in asignificant proportion of referred patients.
2.
CTCA is a highly specialized imaging modality only performed in some centers; SAFE-CT will allow exclusionof CAD in stable patients presenting with chest pain in any center with a CT scanner able to perform a non-contrast cardiac CT scan; only those patients classified as positive by our model will need to be referred fora CTCA in a tertiary center.
3.
In the acute setting (i.e emergency department), SAFE-CT will allow for the safe and quick diagnosis of CADin patients presenting with chest pain. |
