The health care quality and costs each day that passes gains a high relevance to the society, not only nationally, but also internationally.
One of the concepts that is emerging to address this question, is related with the possibility of enabling the health care assistance towards the patient (proximity), even in their home, where is demonstrated, that by guaranteeing that the necessary care is ensured, the recovery time is significantly reduced.
The implementation of proximity concept passes through an alteration in the monitor paradigm.
The aim of the project is the development and integration of all the necessary components to the implementation of the patients' proximity concept. The systems will be based in a kit, the "go-wireless-kit" that has a set of wireless devices (sensors) for the vital signs acquisition, with a capability of communication in ad-hoc with local networks and by a base unit for the information gathering and availability. |
