The program includes learning new knowledge about the functional organization and physiological regulation of metabolism, the mechanisms leading to perturbations of these metabolic pathways, the therapeutic targets, and the methodologies available for their analysis.
During the first semester, students receive training on metabolism, its relationship to nutrition, pathological processes, and laboratory medicine. In the second semester, they will be introduced to the underlying disease mechanisms, such as biological rhythms, oxidative stress, aging, and pathological processes related to metabolic disease.
The course is especially intended for Bachelor's degree holders in Life and Health Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics.
