Physical exercise and sports are of fundamental importance for the well-being of populations and for the treatment and prevention of diseases. The adherence to physical activity, whether in federated sports practice or as leisure or prevention and treatment of diseases, has increased exponentially, with the advantages and problems inherent in its practice.
The specificity and importance of the constraints inherent in the practice of physical activity and sport implies knowledge of physiology, evaluation and treatment that have not been developed in undergraduate education, currently constituting a training gap for the graduate in Medicine.
