Aiming to train and promote scientific research in Psychiatry and Mental Health, this program provides knowledge on research methodology and its adequacy to psychiatric clinical practice, fundamental aspects of functional neuroanatomy, neuronal development, and neurogenesis, as well as the signs and symptoms that characterize severe psychiatric syndromes in various age groups.
In the course, subjects covered include research methodology, abnormal behavior, biological psychiatry, general psychopathology, psychiatric pathology, liaison and psychosomatic psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, gerontopsychiatry, clinical sexology, mental health, culture and social sciences, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Intended for graduates in Medicine or other fields of Health Sciences, the program also encourages reflection on current problems and issues in society and their translation and impact on human behavior.
