OVERVIEW
The Master Degree Course in Palliative Care comprises a total of 120 ECTS, and lasts for four semesters.
The first academic year of this 2nd cycle of studies is successfully completed after achieving a passing grade in the following compulsory modules: Introduction to Palliative Care, Clinical Research and Evidence in Health, Ethics and Spirituality at the End of Life; Interpersonal Relationships in Palliative Care, The Health System and the Organization of Palliative Care, Therapy in Palliative Care, Continuing Care and Monitoring; Grief, Grief and Quality of Life, Symptom Control in Palliative Care.
OBJECTIVES
To acquire through, solid and adequate skills and methodological training in research in palliative care and develop research in the area.
ELIGIBILITY
The application for the 2nd Studies Cycle in Palliative Care is accepted if holders of:
a) Bachelor or Master Degree or equivalent;
b) Degree holders obtained in foreign universities, through curriculum evaluation by the scientific committee;
c) Degree or Master holders in Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, Health Technologies or Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the suitable scientific body of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
