Objectives

Anatomical and functional integration of different organs and body systems.
Acquisition of a knowledge base that can be applied later in other courses of the course and in future clinical practice.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this course the student should:
- Problem-solving skills;
- Self-learning;
- Critical thinking;
- Ability to measure the practical functioning of the various organs and systems;
- Morphophysiological problems of identification in selected clinical cases.
For this purpose will be adopted an integrated approach morphofunctional with the involvement of Anatomists, histologists and physiologists.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The teaching of the course is distributed in the form of practical classes (17h), practical classes (34h) and tutorials (4h), making a total of 57 contact hours (including 2 hours for evaluation).

Evaluation Type

Evaluation with final exam

Assessment Components

Designation Weight (%)
Exame 96,00
Trabalho escrito 4,00
Total: 100,00

Calculation formula of final grade

The practical exam will be held at three different times.
The Anatomy practice test is a "scavenger hunt" and is the identification of 18 anatomical structures. These are arranged in pairs, with the students to 1 minute to identify each of two structures together.
A practical test has a duration Physiology of 15 minutes and consists of 10 questions practice strand (interpretation of paths, graphs, diagrams, etc.) in the form of multiple choice should be checked that only one answer.
The practical exam of Histology and Embryology is the achievement of a working group. Each group of 2-3 students will present in its class a scientific paper on a topic of the scope of PAs Morphophysiology. The presentation will be evaluated by 2-3 teachers who assign a rating equal for all students in the same group. All the practical tests will be graded on a scale of 0-20.
The marks obtained in practical test will be the weighted average of the marks obtained in Anatomy, Physiology and Histology and Embryology. Will be admitted to the theory test students in all the practical tests, obtain an average rating of at least 10 points. This classification remains valid for the other assessment times of the school year for students who fail to pass the written test.
The theory test will include open-ended questions and short and multiple choice questions. Will be approved in the theory test students who obtain a rating of 10/20.
