The PhD in Bioethics at FMUP offers advanced education and training in the area of Bioethics, promoting excellence through research at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge.
The PhD Program, with 180 ECTS, lasts six semesters, and is destined for undergraduates in different areas, namely Medicine, Biological Sciences, or Health Sciences, but also Law, Philosophy, or Economics, among others.
The Program is made up of a curricular component, carried out through the successful completion of ten modules (General Bioethics; Philosophy and Bioethics; Professional Ethics; Ethics in Early Life; Ethics in End-of-Life and Palliative Care; Ethics in Health Priorities; Environment, Biodiversity, and Biopolitics; Biolaw; Seminars; and Individual Projects) and a research component for the elaboration of an original thesis.
